Dr Lisa Hamm is one of only 10 recipients throughout Aotearoa New Zealand to be awarded a prestigious New Zealand Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Rutherford Foundation in 2019. The Fellowship provides salary support for Lisa for two years and will enable her to commence her project entitled “Learning to see: identifying visual processing challenges through innovative assessment tools”.
This work will involve collaboration with Dr Samantha Simkin working at Blind and Low Vision Education Network NZ (BLENNZ) on children with cerebral visual impairment and with her collaborators in East Africa on children with bilateral cataracts. Lisa’s project will develop new ways of testing vision in children.
