On 7 May Associate Professor Sam Schwarzkopf gave a talk entitled “Size – in the brain and in the mind’s eye” via video chat in the Zangwill Club seminar series at the University of Cambridge. Sam discussed his lab’s on-going research on how the brain infers the size of visual objects.
Despite the late hour (9pm NZ time) the talk was followed by a lively discussion with researchers from across the UK. Digital communication has great potential for expanding the exchange of ideas and scientific collaboration. We hope to set up more such seminars even outside lockdown times.
