Here are a few recent activities and news items from around the school:
- Associate Professor Monica Acosta is continuing to work on refreshing the school’s postgraduate courses, the aim being to offer a range of 15-point courses which students in masters programmes around the University can take as part of their qualification. Many thanks to Monica, and to everyone assisting with this work by redeveloping courses.
- Preparation for the school’s 2025 accreditation round is underway with students in the OPTOM 783 course conducting a project on curriculum mapping, which will also support the development of new courses in future.
- Regretfully the Vision Bus Aotearoa suffered some water damage to electrical components in the 27 January flood, and is off the road while assessments and repairs take place.
- On Thursday 16 February most teaching staff attended a day-long marae visit as the conclusion of the Whaia te tika cultural safety course run by Iwi United over the last two years. The day was of great value and we look forward to arranging another opportunity for staff who were not able to participate in this series of workshops in 2021 and 2022.
