Congratulations to Renata Watene and Associate Professor Jacqui Ramke, who (along with Associate Professor Matire Harwood and Dr Braden Te Ao), have been awarded $265,000 by the Health Research Council to carry out a novel research project aimed at improving Māori eye health in New Zealand. The project begins in 2024 and is expected to run for three years. For more information, please see here.

Renata is well known for her work in the area of indigenous eye health in Aotearoa New Zealand already, and recently was the first international keynote speaker at the prestigious National Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Eye Health Conference in Parramatta, Australia.
