- The school is undergoing the standard 10-yearly Academic Review; a lot of mahi went into preparing a portfolio reporting on all aspects of the school’s activities.
- The school gratefully acknowledges a bequest by the estate of Jocelyn Shackleton, given to support research in optometry. Discussion is underway regarding the best way to utilise the funds on an ongoing basis.
- The Community Eye Health team represented the school at the Whakaaturanga Rangahau Wiki Hauora (Health Week Research Expo) held at Kia Aroha Campus.
- Renata Watene was a member of the NZ Women’s Touch Rugby team which won silver in the World Cup in Nottingham in July.
- Undergraduate student Jordana Bremner received a 2024 Blues Award in the Sports Blue category; Jordana scored a goal in the game which saw the Futsal Ferns team win gold in the Oceania final. This win means they will participate in the inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup in the Philippines in 2025.
