The XXIII Biennial Meeting of the International Society for Eye Research (ISER) took place in Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK from 9-13 September, 2018. This is one of the major conferences specifically for eye research with most of the elite scientists in a variety of fields of eye research attending.

From the University of Auckland, attendees included PhD candidates, Wilson Pan from Optometry and Peter Qi from Physiology, along with Professor Paul Donaldson and Dr Julie Lim from Medical Science. Wilson’s talk titled “The effects of age-related changes of the lens physiological optics on overall vision quality” under the session of “Lens physiological optics and biomechanics” was well received.
